I have really pissed off my long distance partner. I don't know whether to keep trying to contact them or not?

We live a very long distance apart. I know they still love me, but they are very very annoyed and told me not to contact. I don't know whether I should keep trying to contact them, leave them alone and see if they come back to me? I'm so confused because I think that maybe if I leave them for a while, they will forget about me, and equally, if I try to contact them, it will have an adverse effect and will make them even more annoyed...
