Safest neighborhood near Metairie?

We are relocating from TN. I have a 10 yr. old and I am looking for a SAFE neighborhood to raise my son. A neighborhood where he can go out and play/ride his bike/skateboard...ya know...just be a kid! My job is in Metairie. PLEASE....someone...help!! My head is spinning reading all the posts on here. I just want an honest answer and a SAFE neighborhood. THANK YOU. WE are coming down this weekend to look for a place and i'd like to know where to look :)
