Will CO2 damage paper? I have a very old family bible that I want to preserve by covering it in CO2?

CO2 is heavier than air and I will place the bible in a container with a top and slowly fill the container, displacing the air. Problem is I don't know if the paper will have an adverse reaction to the CO2.
