Drinking alcohol while taking antibiotics?

I'm taking an antibiotic called Clarithromycin 500mg for what is either strep throat or mono, strep throat is presumed however there is a small chance it is mono. I was wondering if I could still consume alcohol on this drug? If so, what would be the possible adverse affects that would accompany it?
