How safe is a skateboard in a suitcase?

I will be going on holiday soon and i was wondering if i could bring my skateboard, it cannot be taken as hand luggage so the only other way to take it would be to put it in a suitcase and it will be taken into cargo. How safe will the skateboard be in a suitcase in cargo?? will it snap??
